Esan Is not the four legged leader but has come along as both protector and friend. He is black, courageous, smart, and loyal. As it turns out, Esan might be the only thing that stands between life and death for all of them.

        Hugumki is 17y.o. and is the natural born leader of the quest. He is tall, rugged looking, and mature for his age. Though confident, he is the only one going that knows the real reason for their quest, which causes him to battle some self-doubts. He also happens to be the worst singer of the group.
       
        15 y.o. Ooha is the ladies’ man of the group. He is also their very good-looking singer, and knows it. He is average sized, but with a special voice, and he always looks good, in or out of his poncho.

        Deerhead at 16 is the hunk of the group. A hunk of muscle that is, which makes him seem larger than life to some of the younger ones. He is their tracker and always has women on his mind. He also likes giving out unwanted advice and can be tough on everyone.

        Turtle is a happy go lucky 13 y.o. in a big child’s body. Unlike some of the others going, he is not sure if he is ready for a mate yet. Early on he does take some teasing, but eventually shows how tough and needed he is through sheer determination.

        Two Bows at 17, is tall, strong and handsome with piercing black eyes. He is also very observant so it is a good thing he is their scout. Two Bows is the most skilled in the ways of their world but little by little he shows there is more to him than just hunting and killing things.

         16 y.o. Rabbit is statuesque, and almost pretty. He is also very brave, because to show he is part of the group, he is doing something he is not used to, as he tries to find his place in their world. He likes to act dainty and haughty in most situations, but is very tough inside.

         Ah KI Wami is 15 and his scarred, feral face always seems to be one thought away from anger. He has an emotional crisis that he may or may not learn from though he does grow to like being part of something that is bigger than himself.

        14 y.o. Sky Eye is the most intellectual of the boys because of his scientific view of their wild rugged world. His long head and face slightly bothers him, and he likes to join in the many discussions they have.

        13 y.o. Ista is the jokester and storyteller of the group. He and Bird are curious about girls, with many questions. He loves to have fun and play around but slowly learns that he must be serious, sometimes.

        Bird is the youngest of teens, if he is even a teen yet. He is small and childish looking and is full of fear and complaints. He does learn to feel the wild world around him and draw strength from that. Still. Will he be the first to fail?
       
       Can the misfit group learn to work together?
       Will they and the singing stones make it back home, earning them the right to be men and eligible for mates.
